The school was founded by Mr. V. Veeraraghavachari, B.A in 1896 as an aid to provide education to the children of Srirangam region. The school found its rapid growth in the hands of noble men like Mr. Rajagopla Nambi, Mr. Mathru Bootham and Mr. Shankara Narayanan during their reign as Headmasters.
Now the school has already crossed its centenary year and has about 2,900 students studying in a satisfactory infrastructure. Mr.V.Ramanujam is the current Headmaster who is efficiently assisted by Mr. R. Chandrasekaran, Vishwanathan and Srinivasan as the AHMs. The school is certified as Government aided school.
